Champlain Avenue is a bookstore and consignment store run by Kathryn Cramer. Before moving to the Adirondacks in 2009, Kathryn Cramer had a career as an editor of science fiction anthologies.
The bookstore carries about 4,700 titles, nearly all hardcovers. We have a specialty in science fiction, but also carry general fiction and many genres: mysteries, fantasy, horror, and poetry. We carry childrens’ books, both contemporary and antiquarian. Our non-fiction sections cover a wide range of subject areas.
Clothing and home furnishings are featured in coöperation with The Adirondack Attic of Keene, NY. We have women’s clothing and shoes in a range of sizes and styles and also a small men’s section. We have a small but interesting selection of home furnishings which we expect to grow.
Consignments: We are very well supplied with books and for the time being are consigning only hardcover mysteries and books published prior to 1920. Clothing and furniture consignments are handled by Kathryn Wilson of The Adirondack Attic. Consignment appointments in Westport are usually on Mondays.
